Anthony is a scientist by day, but transforms into genealogy addict at night. His mission is to inspire young people to explore their origins through genetic genealogy and family history research
Anthony is a native of New Jersey, and has been engaged in genealogy research since the age of 16. Inspired by his great-grandmother, a descendant of slaves from rural Mississippi, he set out to explore his family’s story.
Anthony received his bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Biochemistry and African American Studies from Temple University, and a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from the Drexel University College of Medicine. His graduate and post-graduate work involves genetic characterization of disease-causing bacteria, and his research was recently published in the American Society for Microbiology’s miniature journal, Genome Announcements. Anthony is the cofounder of NKETA a digital magazine focused on the fusion of culture and genealogy, with a mission to engage millennials in genetic genealogy and family history research.
