“In my Father-in-law’s footsteps: A Journey to Hungary and Ukraine” with Caryn Alter.

Caryn will discuss the trip she took with her husband, Marshall, in August 2016 to visit Polana, the town in which her father-in-law lived until his deportation to Auschwitz as a teenager. Take a visual journey to the bustling city of Budapest, Hungary, and to the towns of Uzhgorod, Polana, and Munkatchin Ukraine. Learn about the history of these once-thriving Jewish areas, and about the efforts to revitalize some of the Jewish communities in Ukraine.
