NJ Death Records and the Greater Trenton Cemetery Project by Beth El Club members, Elana Broch, Regina Fitzpatrick and Mort Cohen will give our joint clubs a ZOOM preview of the panel that they will be presenting at the National meeting of International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies in Philadelphia this August. Trenton had a sizeable Jewish population of German, Russian Empire, and Hungarian immigrants beginning around 1850. Due to the assimilation of subsequent generations and exodus to nearby suburbs, few Jews remain in Trenton today. Elana and Regina, who heads up the Genealogy section of the N.J. State Archives will discuss the incredibly useful resources that remain: the local cemeteries and the New Jersey State archives. Mort Cohen will discuss how many of the local cemeteries have recently been restored as part of the Greater Trenton Jewish Cemetery Project [GTJCP].
Club members will have the link E-mailed to them before the meeting. Non-Beth El Genealogy Club members, please contact Lew Meixler at LMeixler@verizon.net for ZOOM login information.
