Shabbat On The Lake
Welcome to Beth El’s Membership page! Beth El prides itself on its warm and haimish community and we are glad you have taken the first step towards joining us – visiting us online!
Beth El Synagogue is a vibrant synagogue with programming for all ages – from our youngest of tots to our oldest of seniors.
We are dedicated to instilling a love of Judaism in our congregants from the earliest ages. Morah Danna leads our Tot Shabbat service and introduces prayers and Judaic symbols in an interactive and engaging way. As they grow, our children move on to Morah Rachel’s Beginner Junior Congregation, where they learn more about Shabbat services and begin to learn prayers they will one day lead at their b’nai mitzvoth and beyond. Junior Congregation, led by Dr. Benson, is open to students until the age of bar or bat mitzvah. Children can enroll in our excellent Religious School, our dynamic Hebrew High School and a community upper division high school. They can also join our active Pre-Kadima, Kadima or USY youth groups.
Rabbi Jay Kornsgold runs classic adult education programs, some of which he started more than twenty years ago, such as a lunchtime Torah and Tea. Rabbi Matt Nover leads classes more off the beaten path, such as Zombies and Judaism and Jews in Space.
We also have many wonderful learning and social opportunities. Our Women’s League and Men’s Club provide social and educational programs throughout the year. There is something exciting happening at Beth El – either in person or online – almost every day. Come to Shabbat Services Friday night and/or Saturday morning and meet our clergy and our congregation. Stop by and chat with Rabbi Jay. And if you ask Rabbi Matt a Jewish-related question during our Kiddish lunches, he’ll give you a Hershey Kiss!
Our minyanim are all live-streamed for those in our community who are not yet ready to come back to in-person services.
Feel free to call our office any weekday at (609) 443-4454 with any questions or if you need any additional information. They will be more than happy to mail you a packet with additional details about Beth El. Our staff will also forward your questions or concerns to me and I’ll be sure to connect with you one-on-one.
I hope to have an opportunity to meet you in the near future. Until then, please feel free to email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to welcoming you into our congregational family.
